Urban Boards Alliance Program

◉ UBA supports and equips school boards with the knowledge, skills, training, and experiences to address and improve the educational outcomes of students and schools in challenging environments.

◉ Challenging environments and issues are not unique to only urban schools and invites and encourages participation from rural and suburban districts who also face these challenges.

◉ No separate fee for UBA, the services and resources are available as part of COSSBA membership. We believe so strongly in this service that participation is included in the membership paid by the state association members.

◉ A fee is charged for the annual UBA Symposium where district’s share best practices.

◉ The UBA Advisors group is made up of both school board members and executive directors. This Advisory helps facilitate, plan, monitor and recommend changes to the UBA program.

Through COSSBA's UBA programming, all school boards and governance teams will better understand the issues and share best practices to effectively support and serve all students.
