We are excited to announce the Call for Proposals for the upcoming 2025 COSSBA National Conference, centered around the theme of Education for All: Bridging Gaps, Breaking Barriers. 
This conference is a pivotal platform for discussing and advancing our shared goals of creating a unified front to ensure access to quality education for every student, every day! 

In alignment with this year's theme, we aim to develop and implement policies and practices that eliminate barriers in public education. The focus is on creating opportunities for every student by fostering inclusive leadership, which empowers educators and stakeholders to champion excellence in every classroom.

Proposal Submission Guidelines

Conference Tracks

We welcome proposals for session presentations in the following tracks:
 

  • Governance & Leadership: Session presentations should cover facets of board leadership and governance principles, including topics such as accountability, advocacy, leadership, governance, planning, evaluation, communication, and ethical behavior.
     

  • Advocacy: Session presentations should cover how advocacy makes a difference in the local community and at the state and federal levels. Attendees will learn skills to become more effective advocates for public education and how to organize at the grassroots, state, and federal levels.
     

  • Student Achievement: Session presentations should center around implementing unique practices that positively - impact student achievement. This track offers an opportunity for districts to celebrate their successes with a “we did it, and so can you” approach. 
     

  • Finance: Session presentations should show how districts allocate resources to support their mission and goals. This track can include solutions for better budgeting, financial issues affecting school districts, practical advice on surviving difficult economic times, and accountability for financial goals.
     

  • School Wellness and Safety: Session presentations should show how school districts ensure safety and well-being of students and staff, including physical, emotional, and academic areas.
     

  • State Association Programs & Management: Session presentations should focus on state association programs and activities that seek ways to improve and enhance the Associations and the services they provide.
     

  • AI in Education: Session presentations should explore artificial intelligence's transformative potential in creating equitable and inclusive educational environments. This track will address the opportunities and challenges AI presents in today's educational landscape.
     

  • Stakeholder and Community Engagement: Session presentations should focus on the vital role of collaboration and communication in fostering inclusive, supportive, and successful educational environments. This track will highlight processes and activities that increase involvement and partnership with parents, families, educators, agencies, organizations, and communities to improve schools' and students' welfare and success.
     

  • Empowering School Board Secretaries and Administrators: This track should include sessions designed to address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by board secretaries and administrators. Proposals submitted should be aimed at enhancing skills, knowledge and professional growth.

How To Submit

To submit your proposal, please follow these steps:
 

  1. Prepare Your Proposal: Outline your presentation, including the objectives, key points, and potential impact on public education.
     

  2. Submit Online: Visit our Proposal Submission Page and complete your proposal online. Ensure you provide all required information and supporting documents.
     

  3. Review Process: Our selection committee will review all proposals and notify selected presenters by November 04, 2024.
